Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Certified Nursing Assistants are important members of the health care team whose duties involve caring directly for a patient (as well as indirect patient care tasks) and works under direct or general supervision of a registered nurse.  As a health care giver, CNA's are expected to demonstrate good interpersonal skills when interacting with other members of the health care team and with patients.  CNA's help maintain a functional and aesthetic health care environment, contributing to the patient's well-being.  They are expected to perform unit/area skill competencies and must be sensitive to patient's developmental, age-specific, cultural & spiritual needs.

CNA Training is provided by A Plus Healthcare Training.  Our program is approved by the Division of Private Business and Vocational Schools of the Illinois Board of Higher Education  (IBHE) and the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH).  Upon completion of the course, the student will receive a certificate of completion.  A State Competency Exam as mandated by (IDPH) must be passed in order to become qualified for employment as a CNA at any healthcare agencies or facilities in Illinois.  IDPH mandates this program and has set minimum competency requirements.  A Plus Healthcare Training has followed IDPH's guidelines and chose to set a higher standard than the minimum recommendations.

In order for students to complete the training program, they must meet all of A Plus Healthcare Training's requirements and expectations.  We are committed to giving every student an optimal educational experience.  Our small class sizes ensure that you will be able to receive personalized attention from your instructors, and our comfortable, well- equipt facilities will enable you to learn the skills you need to apply to caring for patients in a real clinical environment.  We feature after-work hours and flexible scheduling so students can choose the schedule that best fit their lifestyle.  Our instructors are well-qualified and friendly, with many years of experience.  We utilize a variety of teaching methods, including demonstrations & video.
